A Parry Sound-born composer has been appointed to the Order of Canada.
Governor General Mary Simon announced Eleanor Joanne Daley’s appointment to the Order of Canada on Thursday, among 98 other names.
Daley is being honoured for her contributions to Canadian music and choral culture and is being celebrated as a renowned composer and accompanist.
Parry Sound Mayor Jamie McGarvey congratulated Daley on what he calls a well-deserved appointment, in a tweet on Thursday.
