North East Region OPP execute drug warrant in South River seizing cocaine, methamphetamines, cash and more

A South River man is facing multiple possession charges after a variety of drugs and cash were seized during an OPP drug bust on Monday.

Officials say the OPP’s North East Region Community Street Crime Unit executed a drug warrant at an Isabella Street caps residence around noon. According to police, officers found and seized approximately 38 grams of crack cocaine, 18 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of methamphetamine, Percocets, and over a thousand dollars in cash.

As a result, police say they arrested and charged a 40-year-old man from South River with the following; 

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than Heroin), contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) two counts

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, December 8th in Sundridge.
