West Parry Sound OPP holding recruitment Meet’N’Greet this Saturday

The local Ontario Provincial Police detachment is having a meet and greet this weekend for anyone interested in joining the force.

The West Parry Sound OPP detachment, along with all detachments throughout the province, is holding a recruitment day on October 1st. Constable Joe Scali, West Parry Sound OPP Media Officer, says the event will be happening this Saturday (Oct. 1st) from noon until 2 PM at the detachment on 1 North Road.

“We will be meeting anyone that is interested in pursuing a career with the Ontario Provincial Police be it uniform officer or civilian positions within the OPP. This is an introduction to our big day for West Parry Sound detachment which is going to be October 26th with details to follow,” he says.

According to Scali on the 26th, they are going to host a recruiting day, at the local Fire Department Station, where they will be sitting down with applicants to show them how to successfully become an officer, or what they need to look at if they’re going to pursue a career in policing or the civilian side of the OPP.

“It would be good to come and meet on October 1st so we can even get you registered for the 26, you will have to be registered for that day to attend,” he adds.

Scali says you don’t have to bring anything with you to the event this weekend, just your name, and interest in joining the OPP.
