Heading into the July 01st long weekend, the fire danger rating has been reduced to moderate from high for the West Parry Sound region.
West Parry Sound Fire Coordinator Gord Harrison says the drop is due to the rainfall overnight into Wednesday.
As a result of the change, most jurisdictions will see a return to normal burning regulations and will allow for fireworks. As is the case during fire season residents and visitors are reminded to check with your local Municipality to determine specific regulations and permit requirements.
