West Parry Sound OPP walking in annual Law Enforcement Torch Run

The West Parry Sound OPP detachment will be walking in the local Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics (Torch Run).

This year’s Torch Run, kicking off tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10 AM, starts at the Parry Sound Bike Shop on 25 Mary Street, goes through Church Street, Seguin Street, James Street, Rosetta Street and finishes back at the Bike Shop.

Officials say all ages are welcome to attend, walk, or bike, adding that after the walk there will be a barbeque held at the Royal Bank on 1 Pine Drive to raise funds for the Special Olympics.

The Torch Run is one of the largest public awareness and grassroots fundraising organizations for Special Olympics globally, holding a number of year-round fundraising and awareness events in communities across Canada.
