Seguin has picked up a new long-term strategy to help up the township’s trails and active transportation game.
The township council adopted the Active Transportation and Trails Master Plan after being presented with it during this week’s meeting.
Consulting firm WSP showcased their plan, the result of over nine months of research, planning, as well as consulting public and staff, to council on Monday.
The plan’s main highlights include enhancing connectivity between trail networks, sidewalks, and on-road cycling routes to create an integrated, connected system of active transportation and trails infrastructure.
The plan is also to develop new routes based on strong financial and implementation strategies and promote new programming initiatives to broaden Seguin’s approach to active transportation.
Seguin Mayor Ann MacDiarmid says the township’s council was inspired by the plan’s thorough, efficient, and innovative ways to make Seguin Township an even more incredible place to live, work, and play.
