Spectators are now allowed at high school sports locally.
The four area school boards, with support from the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, have announced a protocol allowing spectators at school-related outdoor events, including sports.
The protocol takes effect immediately.
In a release, the boards say they’re responsible for managing contact tracing and COVID-19 safety measures, so personnel will be at school-related outdoor events to assist in verifying that spectators have completed pre-screening and contact information requirements before entering the venue.
Spectators are required to pre-screen for COVID-19 using a screening tool and scan a displayed QR code to complete a form for contact tracing and attesting that they’ve completed the pre-screening.
The boards say this is not a vaccination attestation.
Masks are also required and physical distancing is requested.
They also say provincial capacity limits for respective outdoor recreational venues will be maintained.
