Thursday morning saw a peaceful demonstration by Climate Action Parry Sound near the corner of Mary and James Street.
In front of the Mary Street Centre, early Thursday group members and supporters gathered with signs, fire extinguishers and wearing masks.
The groups said some N95 masks were used in support of those who can’t breathe because of smoke in the air in Canada’s Western provinces.
The group proceeded down James Street to Seguin Street and from there to Parry Sound Muskoka MP Scott Aitchison’s office.
According to the group, arrangements were made ahead of time to meet with a member of the MP’s staff to present a letter composed by 350.org Canada about the current effects of climate change being seen in Canada and what is wanted of governments to do.
