The local health unit reported no new cases of COVID-19 from Parry Sound over the weekend.
That keeps Parry Sound District at zero active cases for the eighth consecutive day.
One new case and four more recoveries were reported from Nipissing placing that district at five active cases of the virus.
The new case, North Bay Parry Sound District’s case number 289, is a 40 to 59-year old, currently self-isolating, who contracted the virus through community transmission.
In Nipissing, the health unit also reported six more individuals received a preliminary positive result for a variant and two more cases were confirmed to be the B.1.1.7 variant originating from the U.K.
