Parry Sound getting 950k to help protect vulnerable people from COVID-19

Parry Sound District is getting just under $950,000 from the province to help keep vulnerable people safe during the pandemic.

On Wednesday, Ontario announced over $2.1-million in additional funding through the Social Services Relief Fund for Parry-Sound Muskoka.

Of the $2,121,872 in provincial funding, The District of Muskoka is receiving $1,172,769, and the Parry Sound District Social Services Administration Board $949,103.

The flexible funding can be used by local service managers and Indigenous program partners to protect their clients from COVID-19.

The region’s MPP Norman Miller was pleased with the news, saying “With this funding, our government is continuing to provide the resources necessary to protect those residents who rely on housing supports and other social services during the pandemic.”
