$2.9-million to expand Community Paramedicine for Long-Term Care program in Parry Sound

Parry Sound is getting a $2.9-million investment for the expansion of the Community Paramedicine for Long-Term Care program locally.

The announcement was made by Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller and Parry Sound Mayor Jamie McGarvey who said the provincial funding will pour in over four years.

Miller says this initiative will help more seniors on long-term care waitlists stay safe while living in the comfort of their own homes for longer.

He says exact details of the funding for each year will be finalized next week, with a focus on additional and appropriate care such as in-home testing and access to non-emergency support for 24 hours a day seven days a week through a remote monitor.
