The local health unit reported the district’s second COVID-19 related death Wednesday.
Officials confirmed the individual was associated with the Skyline – Lancelot Community Outbreak and had tested positive for a variant of concern.
The region’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jim Chirico released a statement offering his sincere condolences to the individual’s family and friends.
As of Tuesday, the local health unit reports a total 236 cases of COVID-19 in the North Bay Parry Sound District, 206 of which have recovered from the virus and 29 are active.
