One new case of COVID-19 in Parry Sound Thursday

The local health unit is reporting one new COVID-19 case and no new recoveries in Parry Sound Thursday.

That brings the District up to five active cases of the virus, with today’s case being a 20 to 39-year old who got the virus through close contact and whose current status is still being investigated.

One new case and one more recovery were added in Nipissing keeping that District at 18 active cases. The new case, a 40 to 59-year-old is believed to be associated with the Community Outbreak in North Bay.

Officials confirmed that as of Thursday, 24 people have tested positive in relation to the Skyline-Lancelot Community Outbreak in North Bay.

According to a Thursday update, 18 of those 24 have been lab-confirmed to have a variant of concern.

The health unit says its done 821 COVID tests in the last 24 hours.
