Sunset Park Public School closed after concerns over COVID variant

Sunset Park Public School in North Bay has been closed in light of the case reported at the school yesterday possibly being a COVID-19 variant.

This comes after the connection was confirmed between the case at the school and the Skyline-Lancelot Apartments Community Outbreak.

The district’s Medical Officer of Health Jim Chirico confirmed the health unit made the connection Tuesday morning. 

As a result of the variant’s higher transmission rate, Dr. Chirico says he closed the school out of an abundance of caution
