Updated: NBPS Health Unit adds 12 new cases to region, three new recoveries

Ten new cases of COVID-19 were added by the North Bay Parry Sound District health unit Monday morning.

The health unit reports three new cases in the Parry Sound District and seven in the Nipissing District. 

Five of the new cases are individuals between the age of 20 to 39, three cases are between the ages of 40 and 59 and two cases are between the ages of 60 and 79. 

Six of the new cases were traced back to a close contact, two were from travel, one through community transmission and two cases are still being investigated.

All ten patients are currently self isolating, with the health unit reporting no new recoveries this morning. 

That brings the region’s total positive case count to 142, 19 of which are still currently active.

3 PM Monday January, 4th

On Monday afternoon, the North Bay Parry Sound District health unit added another two cases of COVID-19 in the Parry Sound District, bringing Monday’s total number of new cases in the region to 12 cases.

The health unit also confirmed three more recoveries in the region, two in Nipissing District and one in Parry Sound District.

This brings the region’s total positive case count to 144, with 18 cases still active.
