Seguin Township Announces New CAO

There’s a new Chief Administrative Officer in Seguin Township.

On Monday, the township announced Jason Inwood as its new CAO after he was chosen unanimously by council following an interview process that featured six candidates.

Inwood was previously the Director of Operation in Innisfil, holding that position for the last six years.

He brings with him experience in corporate business performance, road operations, fire and rescue services, parks & recreation, facilities, asset management, stormwater management, land acquisition and disposal  and fleet service

Inwood says he’s extremely excited to be joining the Township in this capacity.

“I see great potential for  Seguin with exciting projects such as the Wellness Centre, airport expansion and growth throughout the community,” he said. “My family and I are looking forward to being active in all aspects of community life throughout Seguin”.

Inwood was acting CAO at times during his tenure in Innisfil and before that he worked for six years in a variety of roles with the City of Vaughan.

He describes himself as a spirited leader who promotes a corporate culture of innovation, collaboration, inclusivity and trust.

According to Mayor Ann MacDiarmid, council undertook the search for a new CAO in June following the departure of the previous CAO.

“We worked with Waterhouse Executive Search to source candidates from across Canada. Over 24 candidates were considered during the search. We are delighted to be welcoming Jason to Seguin.”

Seguin is currently undertaking an Official Plan Review, has just completed a Service Delivery Review and is beginning the 2021 budgeting cycle.

Inwood will officially assume the position on November 2.
