Bus hits moose on Highway 69

Four people suffer non-life threatening injuries after a bus with forty children and seven adults was hit by a moose on Highway 69 Sunday night.  It happened at around 10:30pm in the southbound lanes just north of Harris Lake Road on Highway 69. The Carlington Swimming team had just left a meet at Laurentian University in Sudbury.  The driver and three of the passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated at the scene by Britt Fire Department First Response and Parry Sound Ambulance. No one was taken to hospital. The students left the scene on another bus dispatched from Sudbury.  The bus was stopped in the southbound lane unable to move.  Britt and Area Fire Department directed traffic while the passengers were transferred to the other bus until the damaged one was towed from the scene.  The highway was reopened again at around 2:15 this morning.
