Canadore College releases its Fall 2020 plan

PARRY SOUND, ON-Canadore College has established its academic delivery plan for the 2020 Fall semester classes so that students can complete their courses as safely as possible.

The college has decided it will attempt to deliver as many courses remotely as possible.

Those that cannot be done remotely, will be offered through a blended model of electronic and online media and face-to-face teaching. If remote delivery is not possible, students will be provided in-class instruction. Any program-specific plans, as well as essential and beneficial information on the various support services available at the College, will be communicated to students with continuous updates.

Canadore College President George Burton said the health and safety of their employees and students have always been their priority, and those standards continue to guide them as they make plans for the fall semester.

This mix of online and in-person education is nothing new to the College as they have been delivering courses through this combination for more than 20 years in its sports and recreation and part-time study programs.

“We remain committed to the principles of student success and program excellence that Canadore is known for, regardless of how the program instruction will be provided,” said Burton.“If conditions continue to improve in the province, we may look forward to welcoming a limited number of students and employees to our campuses as early as July and increased number by September.”

The College plans on following the Ontario Government directives regarding the requirements needed for reopening its campuses.
