PARRY SOUND, ON-The Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario (ETFO) in the Near North District School Board (NNDSB) is holding two more strikes this week.
Mairghread Knought of the (NNDSB) said that because of safety concerns and the inability to provide the required supervision to students, all NNDSB elementary schools on Wednesday and Thursday will be closed leaving JK to grade eight students out of school for those days.
Knought confirmed that students in high school will be able to attend school as the strikes only affect elementary teachers.
Knought said that even though the strikes will be taking place, all Early Years programs like Childcare, School-Aged Programs, and EarlyON Child and Family Centres will remain open and will run on their usual schedules.
All elementary schools are expected to re-open on Friday.
