Parry Sound program giving filmmakers a head start

Parry Sound, ON-A new filming program allows students to become filmmakers with their iPods.

This free program at the Bobby Orr Community Centre goes between November to February and each student will learn about writing, shooting, creating sound, directing and editing and will be taught by Mary Jane Gomes, an award-winning professional who also taught filming at Ryerson University.

With topics including producing, directing, art direction, cinematography, screenwriting, post-production work and sound, students will work in pairs to make their own films. 24 students will be accepted into the program and 1 iPad will be given to each group.

The program was made possible by the Trillium Foundation who supplies $1,400 for each student to take part.

The application to sign up for the program can be found here.
