PARRY SOUND, ON – Any local post-secondary students, or their parents, looking to put a dent in tuition only have a couple of days to get municipal help.
The deadline for a $500 scholarship offered by Parry Sound is 11:59 p.m. this Friday.
According to the town, eligible students must have a home address in Parry Sound. They also need to be entering their second year at a Canadian university or college and be taking a full-time load.
Students applying should standout. The town suggested they demonstrate leadership on school bodies, business ventures, musical groups, cultural organizations and sports teams, just to name a few.
They also need to have a commitment to volunteer service and an idea of how they intend to make a difference in the world.
