A two-day symposium to discuss making Parry Sound more walkable and bikeable is being held this week. 8-80 Cities is a non-profit organization dedicated to contributing to the transformation of cities into places where people can walk, bike, access transit, and visit public places. Speaker Gil Penalosa (PEN-ah-LOW-sah) is an international expert focusing on the design and use of parks and streets as public places and will speak both Thursday and Friday. Thursday will be a public forum at the Bobby Orr Community Centre from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Friday will be a Public Space Workshop held at the Stockey Centre from 8:30am until 11:00am. There is no registration required, just great ideas on how to get Parry Sound moving.
