Town of Parry Sound Mayoral candidates take about decreasing municipal funding

With downloading of costs and reduced funding, Municipalities face tough times balancing the budget and the Town of Parry Sound is no exception.  Incumbent Mayor Jamie McGarvey explains ways the Town has already be working to fight increased costs.

Former Mayor Ted Knight is running again and says a refocusing of staff will help offset increased costs.

Knight also says more funds need to come from the upper levels of government

McGarvey also says the Town needs to continue to not spend if there’s no money.

Residents will be voting by internet and telephone between October 14th at 10:00am until 8:00pm on Election Day, October 27th.  Everyone should start receiving their voter instruction letters this week and if you don’t get one by the end of the week, contact your municipal office to ensure you are on the voters list.
