A design for the reconstruction of the Cascade Generation Station has been chosen. At last night’s council meeting, Lakeland Holdings COO Vince Kulchycki and Manager Bryan Ingram spoke to council about the decisions made from a committee selected by council. The design is a modern/contemporary design with two stories and arched windows to throw back to some of the design of the current building. A part of the building’s south walls will be cut down to three feet and remain as an area where people can visit. Last week an Environmental Assessment Addendum was completed which is under public review until November 1st. Decommissioning of the current building to prepare for construction of the new design is expected to get started later this year.
