A Trails mater plan has been accepted by the Town of Parry Sound. At last night’s meeting, council approved one of two proposals that came in under the $25,000 budget. The proposal submitted by PlanbyDesign comes in at close to $23,000 plus HST and identifies a 3 month time frame to complete the project, broken down into three phases. The first phase includes a kick-off meeting, background review, base mapping and stakeholder and staff meetings, phase two includes staff meetings and public workshop, identification of linkages, trail amenities/supports, identification of trail users types and analysis of compatible trail uses, while phase three includes a report on maintenance operations and safety, recommended trails projects, design, drawing and visualization, phasing/implementation plan and stakeholder/public open house meetings. Explorers’ Edge declined to help with the cost as it would only benefit the Town of Parry Sound while the North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit offered $5000 towards the project.
