Over 50 tickets issued for failing to wear a seat belt last week

After the first week of the OPP Seat belt campaign, police in Almaguin Highlands have issued 54 offences.  The Ontario Provincial Police are currently conducting a seat belt campaign and are specifically looking for vehicle occupants not wearing their seat belts.   Almaguin Highlands OPP have given 54 tickets to drivers and passengers for failing to wear a seat belt.  Drivers and passengers over 16 years failing to use or improperly use a seat belt are subject to a fine of $240 and for drivers this would include 2 demerit points.
