MacTier Public School after school program receives $10,000 grant

MacTier Public School has received a significant grant for their after school program.  Yesterday afternoon Parry Sound Royal Bank branch manager, Kevin Fuchs, delivered a cheque for $10,000 to the school in the Township of Georgian Bay.  The township is committed to working with RBC to ensure daily support from certified Teachers for homework completion, continued learning and exploration of new ideas and concepts for school age children 6-12 years of age.  The program is committed to offering greater opportunities for the children and their families and is consistent with the direction of the Sustainable Georgian Bay Community Based Strategic Plan.  The township applied for funding for the MacTier program because of the increased attendance and the strong community support.  MacTier operates its program 5 days a week from 3:20 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
