Local police have charged a man with stunt driving while impaired. West Parry Sound OPP was patrolling Highway 69 in Archipelago Township on Sunday when a northbound vehicle was spotted speeding just after 2:00am. The officer was able to pull the vehicle over and while speaking to the driver, smelled a strong odour of marijuana. As a result of the investigation, the 40-yer-old from Bear Island First Nation faces charges of racing, impaired operation, and operating a motor vehicle above the legal limit of alcohol. The racing charge carries an automatic seven day licence suspension and the vehicle has been impounded for a week. He’ll face those charges in a Parry Sound court on November 6th.
