The Parry Sound Non-Profit Housing Corporation is asking Seguin to give the gift of land.
A parcel of land in the Village of Orrville has been identified by the organization as a prime location to build affordable housing units. The non-profit would like Seguin to gift the 4.89 acres and rezone it for multiple small housing units. This will help ease some of the pressure on it’s constantly growing wait list.
The corporation wants to take advantage of a federal grant to build these homes, which means the decision on this project is extremely time sensitive. Corporation officials will be making a presentation to Seguin Council next Monday on this proposal.
The corporation currently manages over 127 affordable homes around the Parry Sound area.
