The municipal elections are coming up fast with only a week left for candidates to declare. So far in the Town of Parry Sound there is just one candidate who has filed for mayor and nine candidates who have filed for six councillor positions. Jamie McGarvey is the lone mayoral candidate looking for re-election while Paul Borneman, Brad Horne, Bonnie Keith, and Keith Saulnier are also looking to get back in as councillors against Dennis Brownley, John Cochrane, Jim Marshall, Doug McCann, and Phil Vincent. An All Candidates Meeting is scheduled at the Stockey Centre on September 11th beginning at 6:00pm. The final date to vote is October 27th with Town of Parry Sound residents voting by telephone and internet.
