OPP have arrested its fourth impaired driver of the year.
On January 13th, shortly after 2:30am, the West Parry Sound OPP stopped a car on William Street in Parry Sound. The officer determined that the driver had been drinking and arrested a 27-year-old man from Waterloo. The man has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired.
The driver is scheduled to appear at the Court of Justice in Parry Sound on February 21st. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the car he was driving was impounded for seven days.
The OPP reminds drivers that there is no safe amount of drug or alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call the police.
