MPP pleased with hunting changes

The Ministry of Natural Resources will soon launch the Outdoor Card and MPP Norm Miller is happy about it.

“Hunting and fishing are important parts of our culture for many people in Parry Sound-Muskoka,” said Norman Miller, MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka. “I am pleased our government has recognized that and is acting to make it easier for hunters and anglers to apply for licenses.”

Ontario is also working to make the moose draw fairer and simpler for hunters by updating its approach to managing moose.

“Our government is making life easier and allowing you to get outdoors quicker,” said John Yakabuski, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry. “We have launched a new licensing service that makes it easier to buy hunting and fishing licenses. It was designed with hunters and anglers in mind.”

The new licensing service is easy to use, with new mobile features and a single Outdoors Card. It can be accessed online at huntandfishontario.com, at participating ServiceOntario locations or at one of over 700 license issuers across the province.

Over the next two years, the government intends to work with an advisory committee, which will review how moose tag quotas are developed and how hunters apply for tags. The review will examine ways of improving service while helping to maintain a healthy moose population.
