Man charged with resisting arrest after standing on the side of Highway 11

Police have arrested a man after finding him standing on the side of the road.  Just after midnight on Sunday, an officer from the OPP North East Region Highway Safety Division stopped a man on the side of Highway 11 in Machar Township.  The man was intoxicated and when the officer tried to arrest him, he resisted.  The 39-year-old from North Bay is charged with causing a disturbance, assaulting a peace officer, and resisting arrest and will appear in Sundridge court next month.
