Police had busy Civic holiday weekend laying over 100 charges

Police in Parry Sound were busy over the Civic holiday weekend.  West Parry Sound OPP were focused on keeping roads, waterways, and trial safe and free of aggressive, distracted, and impaired drivers.  Officers laid over 100 charges including 62 for speeding, four for failure to move over for emergency vehicles, four for not wearing seat belts, and two impaired driving charges.  The “Big Four” driving behaviours that contribute to road fatalities in Ontario are seat belts, aggressive, distracted, and impaired driving and the OPP targets these as part of its Provincial Traffic Safety Program.
