Positive responses to possibility of Parry Sound cannabis stores

The Town of Parry Sound will hold a public meeting to hear more opinions on whether to permit or deny retail cannabis stores.

However, so far they seem to be a popular idea.

The town’s Manager of Building and Planning Services told the MyParrySoundNow.com newsroom that written responses so far are in favor of cannabis retail stores.

“Response to our written comments so far have been largely positive. We’ve received two comments saying “no” with the majority saying “yes”,” he said.

Susan Hrycyna, Executive Administrator of the Downtown Business Association conducted a poll on the DBA Facebook page located here.

The poll showed overwhelming support for allowing cannabis stores in Parry Sound with more than 80 per cent of respondents in favour.

The public is invited to come and speak to the issue on December 18th at 7:00pm in the Council Chambers. Written comments or questions can be still be sent prior to the meeting to Taylor Elgie at [email protected].
