Long weekend OPP results from Almaguin Highlands

It was a busy long weekend for police in Almaguin Highlands.  Between Friday and Monday, OPP responded to 65 occurrences in the Almaguin Highlands area and issued a total of 56 charges including speeding, fail to wear seat belt, fail to surrender drivers licence, driving while under suspension and numerous other Highway Traffic Act charges.  In addition, two drivers were charged for failing to produce insurance card, three people were charged with Liquor Licence Act charges, and one driver was charged with impaired driving as a result of a traffic complaint.  The detachment marine unit was out on the water in the Town of Kearney and laid a total of six charges; two for operators not having the proper safety equipment, one for having open liquor on their boat, and several other Canada Shipping Act offences.
