Neighbours voice concerns over proposed zoning bylaw amendment on Avenue Road

A proposed zoning bylaw amendment for an Avenue Road property has sparked outcry from neighbours.  A public meeting was held last night to hear comments about the proposed change that would allow the property owner to have a second dwelling unit inside the existing building.
The property owner spoke to council about wanting the change to allow for a space to have family members to live, but according to neighbours, the building is already being used as a multi-family dwelling.  Avenue Road is a low density section of town which allows only single family dwellings which is why many of the residents in the area bought their homes there.  Council and staff will take all the information from the public meeting and make a decision at a later meeting.
