Seguin Township may end up with a significant surplus thanks to a revenue boom.
The municipality is forecasting a budget surplus of over $145,000. The majority of this surplus is driven by a jump in revenue from building permit fees. This time last year, the township had collected over $132,000 from these permits. This year, nearly $325,000 has been collected.
The township is also seeing a significant increase in supplemental tax collection at just over $153,000 so far.
