West Parry Sound OPP cracks down on stunt driving with five weekend charges

West Parry Sound OPP is sending a message to drivers who are ignoring the speed limit.

Police charged five drivers in separate speeding-related incidents along Highway 69 over the long weekend:

  • Friday night, 23-year-old Sudbury man pulled over in the Henvey Township area
  • Friday night, 26-year-old Toronto man pulled over on the Shawanaga First Nation
  • Saturday morning, 27-year-old Oakville man pulled over in the Henvey Township area
  • Saturday night, 17-year-old Barrie male pulled over in Archipelago Township
  • Sunday afternoon, 22-year-old Scarborough man pulled over in Archipelago Township

Each of the men was charged with stunt driving, which can come with a hefty fine and up to six months in prison if they’re convicted. They will all answer to their charges in Parry Sound on October 2nd. All the vehicles involved in these incidents were impounded for a week.
