Region’s Fire Danger Rating Drops to High

Hot dogs and marshmallows are back on the menu.

Brian Leduc, Community Emergency Management Coordinator and West Parry Sound Fire Coordinator, has announced that the Municipal fire danger rating across the region is being changed from extreme to high.

A high fire danger rating allows for campfires for cooking or warmth.

The change comes on the heels of the Ministry of Natural Resources ending the restricted fire zone.

As always you should first check with your municipality or local Fire Department regarding allowable fire burning activities in your area.
