Henvey Inlet First Nation evacuees staying at Parry Sound Inn & Suites

All residents of Henvey Inlet have been safely evacuated to either Parry Sound or Sudbury. In Parry Sound, evacuees are staying at the Parry Sound Inn & Suites. Henvey Inlet First Nation resident Angele Dubois says she received a text from her mother to pack her bags. Dubois says it was scary:

Dubois said people generally remained calm through the process:

Dubois says Henvey Inlet First Nation chief & council made arrangements to help cover shelter and food for the week, as not everyone would be able to afford the costs on their own. Dubois says they will be staying put until at least Friday when the situation will be re-assessed. The MNRF reports Parry Sound 33 is at 4,800 hectares, crews continue to battle the blaze.
