West Parry Sound OPP arrested a boater from Parry Sound and charged his four passengers this morning. Police responded after getting a reportĀ of a boat full of impaired youths in the South Channel of Georgian Bay in Archipelago.
The driver,Ā a 23-year-old man, faces three charges including operating a vessel while impaired, consuming more than the legal limit and having open liquor on the water. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. The passengers, all aged between 22 and 24, were charged with having open liquor in an unlicensed area, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
The OPP is asking you to call 911 if you spot a boater who appears to be impaired.
