The Fire Danger Rating for the entire Parry Sound District has been raised to Extreme and a fire ban is now in effect. This means no open-air burning including campfires is allowed. West Parry Sound Fire Co-ordinator, Chief Brian Leduc, says a lot of fires have broken out in the North East region over the last day and a half:
While the temperature is expected to cool significantly by tomorrow, Leduc says he doubts that will change the fire danger rating:
