MNRF raises the fire danger rating to extreme

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has raised the Fire Danger Rating in Parry Sound-Muskoka to extreme. Municipalities in the West Parry Sound District still have the rating at high.  West Parry Sound Fire Coordinator, Chief Brian Leduc, says the fire department will decide whether to raise the rating to extreme tomorrow. He says the determining factor in whether the rating will be raised to extreme through the district will depend on the rain that is forecast for tomorrow:

Leduc says, in an extreme fire danger rating, no campfires are allowed:

If the fire danger rating is high, only campfires intended for cooking or warmth are permitted.
