Collision on Highway 69 kills Timmins man

A 35-year-old Timmins man has died after a crash in Archipelago yesterday evening. The West Parry Sound OPP says the man was driving southbound on Highway 69 just south of Harris Lake Road when his vehicle crossed the centre line and clipped the rear wheels of a commercial vehicle. He then overcorrected and collided with a northbound vehicle. As a result, both ended up in the ditch killing the southbound driver. The OPP has identified the driver as Alain LaMontagne. The passengers are in hospital with serious injuries. The northbound vehicle driver was examined at the scene and released. OPP continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
