Jumpy thermometers the story for January in the Parry Sound region

Environment Canada says our weather is all over the place to start 2018.

That’s according to Meteorologist Etienne Gregoire who says thermometers were very jumpy in January.

Gregoire says temperatures ranged from lows of around the minus 40 range, to double digits on the plus side on other days.

He adds having a freeze-thaw in January is not uncommon.

Gregoire says the average daytime high for January is minus five, while the average overnight low is minus 15 degrees.
