It’s officially autumn, but the weather is anything but crisp.

According to Environment Canada Parry Sound will see temperatures reach 30 degrees on Monday, with the humidex it will feel closer to 38.  Tuesday will see temperatures around 31, and Wednesday is expected to be a bit cooler at 27 degrees.

Heat warnings have been issues to areas surrounding Georgian Bay, and health officials have given some tips to beat the heat.

Experts say to drink plenty of cool liquids, especially water. They add to drink before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Loose fitting and bright coloured clothing made of breathable fabric will help you cool down as well.  Taking a cold bath, shower or using cool wet towels can help lower body temperature.

Health officials are reminding the public to check on the young and the elderly members of your family frequently throughout the day to make sure they are handling the heat.
