The OPP is asking ATV operators to keep safety in mind while riding the trails.
Police say because of the increase of riders on trails and incidents involving ATV’s at this time of year, it’s especially important to exercise caution on the trails. Police says that riders should prepare for the unexpected by carrying a tool kit, tow rope, flashlight, tire repair kit, first aid, cell phone and navigation tools.
Wearing a helmet, not drinking and driving, and not riding alone are additional tips from police to maximize safety. They add to  stay in control and to ride within your skill level.
