September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Parry Sound council is making this September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Town council voted to recognize this at the September 5th council meeting.

Council says that childhood cancer is the number one disease killing children in the province with over 400 children getting diagnosed every year.

The Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer asked council with support to raise awareness with an official proclamation and flag raising.

Council voted to grant that request.

The NOFCC is a registered charity based in Sudbury, Ontario.
