The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit has some advice when it comes to dealing with sharps.
Sharps typically refer to needles, but also includes razors.
The OPP says there have been some incidents this year involving needles in Parry Sound.
If you find a needle or razor in public, there are two courses of action you can take.
If you’re comfortable handling the sharp yourself, the health unit suggests picking the sharp up from the dull end, with a pair of tongs if possible, and placing it in a puncture-proof container. That means an empty bottle of javex or something similar.
